Sources, credits, and attribution information for third-party materials used by My Wild Place.

My Wild Place combines original presentation with third-party data, imagery, maps, and references. Source-specific terms, licenses, citation rules, and attribution requirements continue to apply to that material.

Data and imagery sources

  • GBIF — occurrence-related data and visualizations, including occurrence mapping services where used.
  • NatureServe Explorer — conservation status and rarity references where shown.
  • Wikimedia Commons and other licensed providers — selected images, creator credits, and license information where available.
  • iNaturalist — observation-related information may be used in limited parts of the data pipeline where applicable. Licenses for iNaturalist observations may vary by item and creator settings.
  • EPA — ecoregion and related environmental reference data.
  • U.S. Census Bureau — population and place reference data.

Attribution and licenses

Where applicable, My Wild Place displays source attribution, creator credit, license labels, and source links in the interface or alongside the relevant content. Some materials are subject to item-specific licenses or attribution requirements.

My Wild Place attempts to preserve creator credit, source attribution, and license context where applicable.

When this site displays direct third-party media, creator credit, license context, and a source link should appear with that content where applicable. When this site uses third-party information in a more general or derived way, source attribution is typically provided on this page or elsewhere in the interface.
